Elider is the solo project of ex-Spatula Death and Inchworm guitarist Justin Harris. Elider has been active since 2007, based in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan. In 2015 Harris recorded a number of Elider songs at The Porch Studio while visiting Hamilton. In early 2017, Elider released the album Redbird from these, and from recordings made in Japan, on CD and via Bandcamp. A song from the album, It's Times Like This, charted on Wellington radio station Radio Active's Top 11. The album also included a recording of an unreleased Inchworm song, Lift.

In 2017, Harris returned to New Zealand to play at the Future City Festival as Elider, with Ben Cole (The Datsuns, The Joint Chiefs) on drums and Scott Newth (Rumpus Room) on bass.
