A six piece with a funky pop style, the ''Pilgrims'' were runners up in the 1993 [[Contact]] 89FM [[Battle of the Bands]] behind [[Swamp Goblin]] and won the "Best live band award" at the 1993 [[Waikato Rock Awards]]. They released a tape EP in 1994 titled Volume Zero Point Six. Members of the band were Karl Berzins (guitar), Clayton Sinclair (bass), Dave ? (vocals), Bruce ? (drums), Sam ? (saxophone) and Stuart ? (trumpet).
