Steaknife was formed by Stu Schmidt, Droid, Marcel Gyde (drums), and Scott MacFarlane (guitar). The band supported SPUD at Auckland venue Venue. Steve McLennan joined the band on guitar late in the bands existence, with he and Schmidt going on to form Zooper.
