Rubita is a music project of Hamilton based Rachel Kibblewhite (vocal and electric guitar), formed in mid-2015. Prior to forming Rubita, Kibblewhite attended the University of Otago undertaking a degree in composition and performance. She had played in a number of bands previously, including Cinco. Her Rubita band includes cousin Luke Kibblewhite (saxophone), as well as Seth Clement (drums) and Hon Man (bass). On 26 September 2016, Rubita released an EP titled Brutal Yet Dulce Soap.
