Inturnal were formed in late 2002 by Joelle Walker, Carleen Janlewicz (guitar, vocals), Gabriel Smith (guitar), Mr X (bass) and Sharnay Moxy (drums). In 2003 they made the semi-finals of the Generator Battle of the Bands, the semi-finals of the "National Battle of the Bands", and won the "Peavey Band Search". They played several gigs at Soundproof.
