Giant Jack and the Codpieces formed at the Bryant Hall student residence at the University of Waikato c.1991, featuring John Worsley, Dylan Parry, Dan Hodgkinson and Wilbert. John, Dylan and Dan went on to form Romantic Andes.
The band did covers of songs by the Pixies, U2 and Violent Femmes.
