Giant Jack and the Codpieces formed at the Bryant Hall student residence at the University of Waikato c.1991, featuring John Worsely, Dylan Parry, and Wilbert. John and Dylan went on to form Romantic Andes.
The band reputedly did "pretty sad covers" of Pixies songs (information sourced from Nexus, August 1994).
