Described by John Dix's Stranded in Paradise as "art rockers refusing to play the Top 40", Father Thyme formed in Hamilton in 1974, comprising Steve Grant (vocals), Don Bedggood (guitar), Alan Moon (organ), Lindsay Brook (drums) and Don Martin (bass). They disbanded in 1977, with Moon and Bedgegood being joined by Steve Gilpin, Phil Smart and Kevin Stanton (the latter, at least, being a Hamiltonian) to form Fragments of Time. After more linup changes, they evolved into Misex (however, only including Don Martin from the original Father Thyme).
