Book of Martyrs

Initially formed in Rotorua by Jonathon Armstrong (drums, vocals), Alan Deare (bass, vocals, guitar) (both formerly of Number Thieves), and Sarah Knight (cello). Sarah was later replaced by Stan Jagger (guitars), formerly of Mudpeople, and Justine Francis (violin) when the band moved to Hamilton. Released the tapes Catharsis and Purified 7X (in Hamilton) on Bomb Records.
Book of Matyrs - featuring Jonathon, Alan and Justine only - contributed the track The Man that Said to the 1993 compilation Discordia Concors.<br. They had a song released on the second Flying Nun/Student Radio Freak the Sheep compilation.
