Jenny Morris
Jennifer "Jenny" Patricia Morris OAM (born 29 September 1956 in Tokoroa) is a pop, rock singer-songwriter. Although born in Tokoroa, Jenny grew up in Hamilton with three brothers and four sisters (including Shanley Del), and attended Hamilton Girls High School (1970-1973). Her first professional performance was at age fifteen, at Andersons Theatre Restaurant, in Hamilton. In 1976 she became a singer with Auckland band How's Your Father, who were finalists in the 'National Battle of the Bands'.
After moving to Wellington, she joined an all-girl group Wide Mouthed Frogs in 1978. Her first real success came with The Crocodiles, active between 1979 and 1981, who had a top 20 hit single with "Tears". With The Crocodiles, she played a concerts in Hamilton at Skateworld on 6 and 19 December 1980. She moved to Sydney in 1981, and was initially a backing vocalist for various groups including INXS. She went on to a successful solo career.
