Stan Walker was the winner of the Australian Idol competition in 2009. He was a student at Fairfield Intermediate and Hamilton Boys' High School before moving to Australia. He has had a number of singles and albums that have charted in New Zealand and Australia.

He performed in Hamilton at Edgetravaganza in the Claudelands Arena on 16 July 2011. In 2013 he has worked as a judge for television talent quest series X Factor New Zealand.

He was the second Australian Idol finalist from Hamilton, following Chanel Cole in 2004.
