Sounds is/was a New Zealand wide chain music store. Open for a number of years, the company went into voluntary liquidation in November 2007 blaming illegal music downloads, although rival companies cited bad management practices. Hamilton had stores in Ward St and at Chartwell, although the former closed around a year before the company ran into trouble. Sounds in Chartwell is/was supportive of Hamilton music in 2007, carrying CDs by Hamilton bands.
