The Hamilton Community Arts Council (HCAC) have been instrumental in providing resources and opportunities for Hamilton artists. They are the group who organise and run the Tempo music expo, compiled the Hamilton Live publication which provides information on how to put on music events in Hamilton (available online at their website), and have also provided access to things such as 'Legalised Art' in which artists can receive free legal advice by a representative from law firm TompkinsWake. The HCAC were instrumental in setting up the Hamilton Live Music Trust, and provided a grant that helped establish Mammoth.

In 2011 they changed their name to Creative Hamilton.
