The Music Box was located near the corner of Collingwood and Alexandra Streets, where ChiChi Deluxe is now.

The Music Box sold second-hand vinyl, tapes and CDs. The owner of the Music Box had a reputation as being a miserly bastard; nearly every record in the store was inevitably labelled a "rarity" and as being in "excellent condition". The Music Box was the last of Hamilton's old school record exchanges (see Victoria Street Record Exchange and Hamilton Record Exchange) to close after which it was relocated to Napier in the early 2000's.
