The Music Box was located near the corner of Collingwood and Alexandra Streets, where ChiChi Deluxe is now.

The Music Box sold second-hand vinyl, tapes and CDs. The owner of the Music Box had a reputation as being a miserly bastard; nearly every record in the store was labelled a "rarity", and inevitably in "excellent condition". The Music Box was the last of Hamilton's old school record exchanges (see Victoria Street Record Exchange and Hamilton Record Exchange) to close; and was relocated to Napier in the early 2000's.
