Is this a real band? If so, anyone have basic details like when they were active, members etc.?

That's a surprise.
They weren't a band per se, but an idea more than anything. I once saw them 'play' - miming on top of a shed roof. I'll add something proper when I get the time. --Danduran 23:56, 29 April 2006 (BST)
They actually recorded some songs for Jason's doc. They're as much a band as Spinal Tap or the Rutles are bands.
So, not a band then.
