The Spark festival is a week long festival comprised of talks by various creatives from New Zealand and around the world. Spark is organised and run by the [[Mediarts]] department at [[WINTEC]]. Students from Mediarts traditionally get to attend the seminars for free, whereas other people will generally have to pay.

Spark is an annual International Festival of Media, Arts and Design. Spark first took place in 1998 under the name Sparc. The week long event is comprised of speakers, workshops and events by various creatives from New Zealand and around the world (namely from the worlds of Graphic Design, Film, Fashion and Interior Design, Media and Communication, Advertising and PR, Music, and Visual Arts). Spark is organised and run by the Mediarts department at Wintec.

The free festival is a celebration of creativity and innovation within the global arts domain and is compared to the likes of sister festivals Semi-Permenant, and We Can Create.

Previous directors include Media Arts Staff, Lisa Benson, and Susanna Wilford. The current Festival Director is Kat Cox.
