The Rockfurly Shield was an event that took place at Rugby Park on Saturday, 27 October 1984. Advertised as a friendly competition, representing Waikato was Politicians, Bronx and Wetbacks, while Pleasure Boys, Martial Law and Peking Man played for Auckland. However, two of the Hamilton bands pulled out and were replaced by Bronze Spirit and Stonehenge. The gig was organised by P.I.U. Productions, and entry was $7. Guest judges were Tony Edwards, Steve Jones, Radio with Pictures host Karyn Hay, and Andrew Fagan.
