''Retro Valley'' played their first gig on 17 August 2019, as 'Retrovallies', at the 'Tunes of Waikato Youth Music Challenge 2019'. They followed this up with a series of further gigs, at [[Nivara Lounge]], [[The Quadrant]] and at ''The [[Embassy Park]] Outdoor Cabaret 2019-2020''. They released their first song, "Won't Be', in October 2019; a video for the song was released in August the following year.
