Nick Thomas and the Botswana Defence Force formed in 1995 and consisted of Nick Thomas, Mat Jorgensen, and Geoff Doube. They played one gig, supporting Avant Garbage at their album release party and got in trouble for stealing a cask of wine from the lead singer of the headline act. They had a minor hit with 'I wanna stick it in ya' before disbanding. Mat Jorgensen and Geoff Doube then moved to Wellington and started The Seventeen Murderesses.
