Nick Thomas and the Botswana Defence Force formed in 1995 and consisted of [[Nick Thomas]], Mat Jorgensen, and [[Geoff Doube]].  They played one gig, supporting [[Avant Garbage]] at their album release party and got in trouble for stealing a cask of wine from the lead singer of the headline act. Mat Jorgensen and Geoff Doube then moved to Wellington and started The Seventeen Murderesses. ''Doube'' most notably went on to [[The Shrugs]].
