The Left Bank Theatre, operating from 1982 until 1998, was an occasional venue. It was located in a building behind 1 Marlborough Place (later renamed Sapper Moore-Jones Pl), to the north of the rear 1924 extension of the Hamilton Hotel building (and is thought to have been built at a similar time). The site on which it sits is to become the Waikato Regional Theatre, to replace Founders Theatre. Sneaky Feelings played there on 27 June 1983, and The Great Unwashed also played there in the early 1980s. It was also the venue for a number of 'Performance Cafes'.
