Late 80's Mercedes are an 9-piece swing-funk band, including a 5-piece brass section. Their sets largely comprise performances of classic songs in a swing-funk style, including ''Lose Yourself'' by ''Eminem''. Although they dont openly call themselves a christian band, they have a large following in the christian community and play at Christian music events such as the [[Parachute Festival]]. They have three songs on the 2002 Youth For Christ compilation [[CTC]]: ''Swing it'', ''Strong'' and ''Superstition''. In 2010 they released their debut EP [[Live]], which debuted at number 14 on the New Zealand Music Chart top 40 albums.
