According to their website, "Late80smercedes is a swing funk band qualified to funk-a-fy your life."

They wouldn't normally call themselves a christian band, but have a large following in the christian community and play at Parachute Festival.
Late 80's Mercedes are a 9-piece swing-funk band, including a 5-piece brass section. Their sets largely comprise performances of classic songs in a swing-funk style, including Lose Yourself by Eminem. Although they dont openly call themselves a christian band, they have a large following in the christian community and play at Christian music events such as the Parachute Festival. They have three songs on the 2002 Youth For Christ compilation CTC: Swing it, Strong and Superstition. In 2010 they released their debut EP Live, which debuted at number 14 on the New Zealand Music Chart top 40 albums.
