As strange as it seems now, ''Downstairs Oranga'' was a popular venue on campus in the early to mid-1990's. In 1993 it went under the name ''Club Uni''. It later became a failed McDonald's franchise; the WSU at the time (see comment under [[Wailing Bongo]]) believed this would provide cheap food for students.
