Darryl Montieth was guitarist and vocalist for a number of Hamilton bands through the late 1980s to mid-1990s, including Joe 90, Whisperscream and Bitumus. He was also the producer of the 1992 HUM Sampler 92 compilation, and contributed the track Stationary Man to it. He now resides in Gisbourne where he is the local general manager of Radio Network and is the chairman of Creative Tairawhiti. He also plays in a band called The Ashes, which includes Moses Hiakita (bass), formerly of Bio-Luvals and Whisperscream.
