He spend many years playing in a Trio with Max Cleaver on Piano and Mike Frogley on Bass and John on Drums)at both the Hillcreast Lodge Resteurant and the Ohaupo Hotel in Hamilton in the 1970 - 1980's. Johnny toured as a backing musician with the Marshall Waternam arranged Grand Ole Opery show that featured Gray Bartlett, Brendon Duggan, Susan Prentice, Jodie Vaughan etc. Johnny is widely respected by the many musicians he has performed with in over 40 years performing music in the greater Waiato and Bay of Plenty region. He played with the Satelites on their last major concert in Hamilton in 2009 "Legends of the Waiakto". | |
