As strange as it seems now, ''Downstairs Oranga'' was a popular venue on campus in the early to mid-1990's. It later became a failed McDonald's franchise; The WSU at the time (see comment under [[Wailing Bongo]]) believed this would provide cheap food for students. It is now a food hall.

As strange as it seems now, ''Downstairs Oranga'' was a popular venue on campus in the early to mid-1990s. In 1992 and 1993 it went under the name ''Club Uni''. It later became a failed McDonald's franchise; the WSU at the time (see comment under [[Wailing Bongo]]) believed this would provide cheap food for students. It was briefly used as a venue once again in the mid 2000s, and is now a food hall.
